Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry, at last make good on their promise to step back from their senior-to royal duties.
As of April 1, the Sussexes will no longer hold an office in london. They will instead be represented by their UK charity foundation’s staff, according to People magazine.
The deadline for this part of the deal, the duo is chased by Queen Elizabeth II in January, after they announced their plans to try and find a life beyond their senior royal duties. The couple will not only stop the use of “royal highness” titles, but will also have to split their time between the United Kingdom and North America, as they try to live the life of financial independence from the crown.
By the People, a spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, said: “The Duke and Duchess will be spending time in both the Uk and North America. In addition to continuing to work closely with their established patronages, as they are building a plan for assignments in the united kingdom and the Commonwealth throughout the year, The Duke and Duchess will also include business meetings, as part of its ongoing work on the creation of a new non-profit organization. The details of this new organization will be shared later in the year.
“In general, the issues of their case-related work will remain the same, including the Commonwealth, the community, and the youth empowerment and spiritual health, and, jointly,” the spokesman added.
