TRENTON, N. J. – New Jersey medical examiner has overturned an earlier ruling of the former president of a hospital killed himself.
The medical examiner Friday changed John Sheridan’s manner of death by suicide to not be on his death certificate.
The decision came after the four sons of John and Joyce Sheridan accused a public prosecutor of the jumping to conclusions that he killed his wife and then themselves after setting their house on fire.
Mark Sheridan says the family feels that a “big mistake has been made”, but they still do not know who killed their parents.
They want the investigation reopened.
A nationally known forensic scientist concluded that John Sheridan was probably murdered.
Sheridan is the former president and CEO of Cooper Health system.
