McConnell, R-Ky., a ballot on the Green New Deal on Tuesday, forcing the Democrats to go on the record with their support or opposition to the non-binding resolution.
The Senate could not reach 60 votes needed to begin debate on the proposal, with 42 Democrats and sen Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Voting “present.” Democrats held back, to bring a protest against McConnell decision, the measure, on the ground, looking at it as a stunt.
