McCain 81 when he died on the 25. August after a year-long battle with a brain tumor. He was in the U.S. Senate since 1987, prior to that, he served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam war, becoming a prisoner of war for several years.

In a farewell message published, after his death, McCain, the country is urged not to despair, “our present difficulties but to believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable.”

“The Americans never leave. We never give up. We hide, you never run out of story. We make history,” McCain said.

In DC, Senate majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the speaker of the house of representatives Paul Ryan are expecting explanations in honor of McCain. Along with McConnell, the minority leader Chuck Schumer, a Senate wreath in McCain’s memory.

Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Sen. Kelly Ayotte will display, at a service at the National Cathedral Saturday. The former sen. Joseph Lieberman also comments.

Athletes

Larry Fitzgerald Jr., a venerable wide receiver of the Arizona Cardinals, is set to give a tribute to McCain at a memorial service in Arizona. He told ESPN that he had to say amazed, “” when he was asked by Cindy McCain a few words during the service.

“It is truly one of the greatest honor of my life, to be able to talk about someone who served his country so passionately, and had the policy of this nation is devoted,” says Fitzgerald.

The former Arizona Coyotes player Shane Doan and Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Luis Gonzalez will serve as pallbearers at the funeral, Fox News reported.

McCain was an avid supporter of Arizona sports teams, and is often seen at sporting events. He worked on the Arizona Coyotes in the area after the former team owner in the bankruptcy. The Coyotes honored McCain with a bobblehead in a military appreciation night in 2011, and the senator dropped the ceremonial first puck before the game against the Montreal Canadiens.
