The former Deputy FBI Director, Andrew McCabe said in a television interview on Tuesday that he briefed congressional leadership in the year 2017, on the bureau’s counter-espionage-investigation-President Trump, but claimed that none of the legislators – including then-speaker of the house of representatives, Paul Ryan, and Senate majority Leader Mitch McConnell – rejected.
“You have to be a counterintelligence investigation, in the President?” NBC’s Savannah Guthrie asked McCabe, who is promoting his new book on “Today.”
“I replied,” McCabe.

McCabe went on to describe how she fired after Trump’s then-FBI Director James Comey in may 2017, he taught the so-called non-partisan “Gang of 8” congressional leaders to investigate about the FBI decision to open a counterintelligence investigation, the President of the relations with Russia. Trump has always denied the allegation, to win his campaign in cooperation with the Russians.
“The goal of the Briefings was to let our congressional leaders know exactly what we are doing,” McCabe said.
Asked whether someone in the Congress said objections to the investigation, McCabe, “I said to Congress, what we had done…no one objected. Not for legal reasons, not constitutional concerns and is not based on facts.”
But a member of the congressional leadership told Fox News on Tuesday that McCabe is confusing, because until may 2017, it was already known that the FBI counterintelligence investigation of Trump and his campaign had begun almost a year earlier.
In may 2017, however, the investigation was about to be turned over to a Special Council Robert Müller. In his book, McCabe details a meeting in this period, the top legislature while the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the appointment. It is unclear whether the meeting in question, then she went into detail about the nature of the investigation itself.
In addition to Ryan, and McConnell, other leading members of the “Gang of 8” including house Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate democratic leader Chuck Schumer.

McCabe was fired by then-attorney General Jeff Sessions in the past year, after an inspector general report McCabe lied leaking said to reporters about the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton’s E-Mails.
Meanwhile, Trump on Monday accused, McCabe and Rosenstein from the pursuit of an “illegal and treasonable” plot against him, according to McCabe detailed private DOJ talks about secretly recording and potentially displacement of the President.
The alleged discussions were the subject of fierce debates – and the conflicting accounts – for months. But McCabe again the Problem during the promotional interviews for his upcoming book, told CBS News “60 Minutes” that Rosenstein was “absolutely serious” when he proposed the inclusion of trump in the turbulent days after Comey, the burn is as FBI Director.
Trump seethed on Twitter, via the comments, the calling McCabe a liar before lashing out with top DOJ and FBI officials, including the deposed attorney General, Jeff Sessions, to plan for what he described as “deranged”.
“He and Rod Rosenstein, the employee was, Jeff Sessions (the other beautiful), look as if are you planning an illegal act, and was caught … There is a lot of explaining to do to the millions of people who had just elected a President that you really like and who has done a great job for you with the military, vets, business, and much more. This was the illegal and treasonable ‘insurance’ in action!” he tweeted.
Rosenstein repeatedly has denied that he “is pursuing, or authorized the recording of the President” and has also denied McCabe’s proposal that the Deputy attorney General had discussed the idea of relying on the Constitution to the 25-Amendment, which allowed the members of the Cabinet after the removal of a President, when you come to the conclusion that he or she is mentally unfit. The Ministry of justice echoed published both denials in a statement last week, said Rosenstein, “was not in the position to invoke the 25th Amendment.”

But McCabe said in the interview, “Rod picked up the [25th Amendment] issue and discussed it with me in the context of thinking about how many other Cabinet could assist the officials of such a burden.” He added that he believed Rosenstein “to remove the counting of votes or potential votes” trump out of the office.
Fox News reported on Sunday that the former FBI lawyer, James Baker, in his testimony before Congress, even more details about the alleged 25-Change discussions – namely, two Cabinet-were the officials, “prepared to support” such an effort.
