May not be continued for The Grand prix of the Netherlands
The cloth is likely to fall for The Big Prize of the Netherlands, the only country popconcours for live music, because from 2017 onwards the subsidy tap is likely to be turned down. The organization was about this Friday, sounding the alarm.
Despite a generally positive advice, the Fund for cultural participation, no grant will be awarded to the popconcours.
A lot of musicians have become famous by participating in the competition, such as Typhoon, Junkie XL, Lois Lane, and Eefje de Visser. They could as novice artists in the pop temple Paradiso and the Milky way, and heard how a competent jury their music rated.
“My life changed at that moment: I got many offers for festivals, my price went up from 70 to 300 euros per show and that was the moment that I could live of my music,” says Lucky Fonz III.
