Mattis: Afghans boost troop research after the attacks from the inside

WASHINGTON – Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, says the Afghan army has increased the screening of the local forces to work with U.s. troops as a result of the recent insider attacks that killed two AMERICAN service members.

Mattis says the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, the question of when the two men met in Kabul last week, amid increased concern about the Afghan forces to the attack on the AMERICAN troops they were together. Mattis, in his first public comments about the meeting, telling reporters at the Pentagon that the Afghan leaders have more training and safety checks to ensure they are in identifying Afghans who have been radicalized.

The two leaders also discussed security for the upcoming parliamentary elections and the broader plans on the support of the military struggle, while also seeking reconciliation with the Taliban to end the war.
