A Weymouth police officer was shot Sunday morning, reports said.
A Massachusetts police officer is in critical condition Sunday morning after he was shot, reports said.
The on-duty Weymouth agent was brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck in the vicinity of Torrey Street and Burton Terrace in a town 17 miles south of Boston, Boston25 reported. The officer’s name was not released.

The State of Massachusetts, said the Police crime scene services, ballistics, troopers assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office to help in the investigation.
Officials have provided few details on what led to the shooting, but neighbors told NECN the officer trying to pull over an erratic driver when the shooting took place just after 7:30 pm
The driver reportedly got out of his car and started running as the officer tried to stop him.
A person was taken into custody, Norfolk County DA told Boston25.
Marshfield police tweeted Sunday morning: “Thoughts and prayers to Weymouth, the Police and all the officers families.”
