The Moroccan football federation FRMF has Monday to say goodbye to Mark Wotte. The 58-year-old Dutchman was the coach of Young Morocco, which Sunday he was eliminated in the olympic qualification.
“The reach of the Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo was one of the main goals in the contract of Wotte”, reports the FRMF in a statement about the departure of the coach.
Young Morocco won Sunday in Rabat 1-0 of Congo, but that was not enough after the 2-0 defeat four days earlier in Kinshasa. The team of Wotte will therefore not arrive at the African championship for players under 23 years of age, where tickets to earn for Tokyo 2020.
“My collaboration with the Moroccan federation is today terminated, now that the olympic project is over, as we agreed had in my contract,” writes Wotte on Twitter. “I want all my colleagues to thank.”
The ex-trainer of ADO Den Haag, FC Utrecht and Southampton was since 2017 coach of Young Morocco.
