Mark Hamill has responded to the news that his old “Star Wars” games, Carrie Fisher, will be a part of the film by means of unused images from the 2015 “the Force Awakens.”

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Luke Skywalker actor tweeted his thoughts on the news that Fisher, who died in 2016 in the middle of the filming of what many expected to be a long story arc in the still-to-be-titled ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ will be a part of the film with the help of old images.

It is bittersweet compared to my last chapter without her, She is simply irreplaceable. I take comfort in the fact that they will not BE replaced and would like to have the global outpouring of the affection of the people who loved her when they heard the news.#CarrieOnForever pic.twitter.com/7ueMqBxQwa

As previously reported, Hamill confirmed his involvement in the ninth film, along with C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels and Lando Calrissian actor Billy Dee Williams. Fisher’s involvement dropped off at the same time.

“We are desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” director J. J. Abrams said in the release. “Finding a really satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without its escaped us. We were never planning to revise, or to use a CG character.

“With the support and blessing of her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and the role of Leia in Episode IX with the help of unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

According to TheWrap, filming on the next installment in what Lucasfilm calls it “The Skywalker Saga” begins this coming week.
