A Marine apparently shot himself by accident Friday in a guard post at the marine Corps barracks in Washington, D. C.
An official with the Marines told Fox News that “early indications are this was a negligent discharge.”
The shooting happened at the marine Corps Barracks and Commandant’s House around 8 a.m. and is “currently under investigation,” the Corps said in a statement.
The Marine was transported to a hospital after the gun went off, and according to an NBC 4 reporter, is in stable condition with a gunshot wound.
