Marijne follows Oltmans as coach hockey players India

Sjoerd Marijne follows orlando’s column Oltmans as coach of the Indian hockey players, reported the Indian hockey federation on Friday. The 43-year-old Dutchman is stepping over the female team of India.

Oltmans was last week dismissed by the mannenploeg because he is in two years no successes managed to books. The team ended this summer, disappointing when sixth in the Hockey World League in London.

Marijne is the third Dutchman in a row, it should try in the kwartfinalist of the Olympic Games last year in Rio de Janeiro. Paul van Ass was the predecessor of Oltmans.

Marijne was since January 2017, the coach of the Indian hockeysters. He hoped for reparation, after he in september 2015, after less than a year, was fired as coach of the Oranjevrouwen.

The hockey federation of India in recent years has little patience with foreign coaches. Also, Australians Ric Charlesworth and Michael Nobbs and Terry Walsh were just like Spaniard Jose Brasa is not the time their contract to serve.

8th Sep 2017: @SjoerdMarijne named as the Indian Men’s Team Chief Coach; @HarendraSingh66 to take over as Chief Coach of the Women’s Team.
