Marie Osmond backtracks on Trump inauguration remarks

Marie Osmond says that her comments about being open to the run of President-elect ‘Donald Trump’ s inauguration were taken out of context.

“Many of you have seen various stories say that I volunteer or that I encounter during the inauguration,” Osmond said in a statement on Twitter. “Let me be clear: I do not have the intention of performing at this inauguration, regardless of who won!”

She added, “I try to stay away from the politics. I am an entertainer. My interview statement was trying to be nice and promote a message of love, not hate.”

“I don’t,” she replied. “…When it comes to our country, I think we must unite. And not for the support of our president, I think, is wrong. I think we should all support our president, whether we’re happy or sad.”
