A manhunt is underway in Montgomery County, Maryland, after “multiple” people were discovered fatally shot in a Brookville home on Monday afternoon.

A manhunt is underway in Maryland after “multiple” people were discovered fatally shot in a Brookville home on Monday afternoon.

Montgomery County Police, who are not in the first instance, the name of the defendant, tweeted that the department responded to a domestic disturbance call following a report of multiple people shot.”

There were “multiple fatalities” in the house about 16 km west of Gaithersburg, police said. It was not immediately clear how many people were found dead.

The suspect — who is believed to be known by the police — is not in custody. The police said that they “do not believe this was random.”

People who live in the area have been warned to “shelter in place.” The police will provide updates as the manhunt continues.
