Manchester United lost to Real as richest club in the world
Manchester United may be the richest in the world. The club had about the season 2015/2016 a total income of 689 million euros and trumps this Real Madrid.
Last year was Real still at the top of the annually by Deloitte published the ‘Money League’. This year, FC Barcelona, Real gone, although the difference between the Spanish clubs are minimal: 620,2 against 620,1 million euro.
The top five is completed by Bayern Munich (592 million euros) and Manchester City (524 million), both clubs climbed up a place at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain.
The list of twenty clubs is dominated by the Premier League. Eight of the thirty clubs are from the English league. Deloitte does not exclude that thanks to a lucrative televisiedeal all clubs in the Premier League next year in the top thirty.
From the Primera Division alongside FC Barcelona and Real only Atlético Madrid in the top twenty represented. There are three German clubs in and four Italian clubs, including Juventus, on the tenth place, the highest is listed.
The total revenue of the twenty highest earning clubs – exclusive transferopbrengsten – increased by 12 percent to 7.4 billion euros.
Ajax was in 2014, with 107,6 million in revenue the last Dutch club to the top thirty cited (27). Napoli now close the list; the number thirty comes out on 142,7 million euro.
“Manchester United has in the commercial field phenomenal scores”, commented Dan Jones on behalf of Deloitte. The ‘Red Devils’ took 71 million, although the action last season under then-coach Louis van Gaal in the Champions League, no success.
The ‘Red Devils’ were in the group stage off, and ended up in the Premier League as the fifth.
