Müller team files complaints against Manafort judge

Prosecutors fight back against allegedly unfair treatment by judge T. S. Ellis, III; Peter Doocy reports on the complaints.

Judge T. S. Ellis III mysteriously delayed testimony Friday in the case of ex-trump-campaign-Chairman Paul Manafort, deport the current procedures for the hours after prosecutors again complained about his criticism of them.

It is not clear whether the delay is associated to the action of the Special Counsel, Robert Müller the team. “You might want to spend time on a loan that was granted,” Ellis said in court on Thursday.

The prosecutors, on motion, asked Ellis to withdraw his comment, saying that it “pretends to be the law in relation to bank-fraud conspiracy” and “incorrectly conveyed to the court the opinion of the facts, and is likely to confuse and mislead the jury.”

Ellis has not yet addressed the motion in court.

Manafort is a tax-and bank-accused of fraud with millions, the result of the political work in the Ukraine. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On Thursday, Ellis expressed his regret, after prosecutors filed a similar motion to complain Ellis unfairly reprimanded you in front of the jury so that a witness sitting in the courtroom before his testimony.

“This robe does not make me something other than human,” Ellis said.

The truce between the judge and the prosecutors, though, did not last long.

Hours later, when the Prosecutor tried to introduce an exhibition that was dozens of pages long, Ellis interjected: “It might be a kind soul in the jury thinks that you need to scroll through all of these things — and that’s not true.”

The prosecution had been expected to wrap up its case by Friday afternoon. It is unclear, as on Friday, the delay will affect that.
