AUGUSTA, Maine – A Pagan priest has finally reached the button to the sport goat with horns in his Maine driver’s license of the photo.
Phelan Moonsong said he always wears his goat with horns, which serve as spiritual antennas.
But Moonsong is why he had to fight for his driver’s license photo even after explaining his religious beliefs of motor vehicles staff in August. Plus, he adds, the horns do not interfere in his face.
The Maine Secretary of State’s office said that the state was not known with the choice of headdress and had asked Moonsong for more information. A spokeswoman said Maine allowed the goat with horns as Moonsong cited their religious purposes and because they do not interfere in his face.
Maine motor vehicle staff personnel can hold the license of photos for a review if they have a complaint about religious headgear.
