EVERETT, Wash. – A young man accused of shooting and killing three people at a party in July in the Seattle area, is sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Allen Ivanov pleaded guilty last month to three counts of aggravated first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder for the wounding of two other victims. He did that on a day before a prosecutor was to announce his decision on whether or not to seek the death penalty.
KOMO-TV reports that Ivanov apologized, According to County Superior Court Judge Janice Ellis sentenced him Thursday. Family members of the victims expressed anger and sorrow in the courtroom.
Researchers say that Ivanov was attacked on July 30, gather in the small town of Mukilteo, because he was angry that his ex-girlfriend seemed to move after their break-up.
Ivanov was charged with the death of Anna Bui, Jacob Long and Jordan Ebner, who were all 19.
