Man suspected of defrauding more than 1,000 Walmart stores

YUMA, Arizona. – Authorities say a man suspected of making fraudulent returns at more than 1,000 Walmart stores in the U.S., has been arrested in Arizona.

The Yuma Police Department says the 23-year-old Thomas Frudaker was held Wednesday after store employees saw a suspicious transaction, and contacted the police.

Police spokeswoman Edith Ruiz says Frudaker went to return a computer from which the police that he had removed certain parts. She says that the researchers suspect Frudaker a similar return that of a Yuma store.

Ruiz says they also suspect Frudaker pulled the same scam at the hundreds of shops over a period of 18 months. The police gives an estimate of the costs Walmart about $1.3 million.

Frudacker is on the Yuma County Detention Center on multiple charges, including fraudulent schemes. Records do not list a lawyer.
