Man sentenced for fatally shooting cousin, wounding nephew

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio A man convicted for fatally shooting his young niece and injuring his cousin when he tried to “quiet,” is sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole for 35 years.

A judge sentenced the 60-year-old Milous Keith on Thursday in a Franklin County court. Keith pled guilty to the murder charges for the killing of the 12-year-old Cheyenne Stewart and felonious assault for wounding a 10-year-old Thaijaun Green. The authorities say that he shot them July 17, 2016, at his mother’s Columbus home.

The prosecutor says Keith shot them “quiet.”

Keith told the judge that he had too much alcohol.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Keith’s lawyer, Dustin Blake, said Keith was very drunk that day, “but that’s not good.”

Blake proposed a prison sentence of 25 years to life.
