Man sentenced for beating boy to death, throw body in the river

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio A man convicted of hitting a 14-month-old boy is dead and throws his body in a creek with the help of the mother of the child.

The woman told jurors that 27-year-old Kurt Floods repeatedly struck her son with a hairbrush to “beat the demons out of him.”

The Columbus Dispatch reports that a Columbus jury convicted Flood on Thursday of murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Flood testified he does not have to beat Cameron Beckford, but helped 28-year-old Dainesha Stevens get rid of the body in December 2014.

Stevens pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence in exchange for her testimony. She is still not sentenced.

Flood’s lawyer called Stevens a “pathological liar.”
