Man pleads not guilty in shooting death of parents, sister

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa A man accused of fatally shooting his mother, father and sister, has pleaded not guilty.

Court records say the 21-year-old Chase Nicholson filed written arguments Tuesday in Polk County charges of first degree murder. The records are not listed as a first date is set.

The authorities say that Nicholson used a shotgun that was recovered at the family home in Bondurant, where the bodies were found on 6 April. The three dead were identified as a 58-year-old Mark Nicholson; 56-year-old Charla Nicholson and a 24-year-old Tawni Nicholson.

Chase Nicholson gave 7 April in Neosho, Missouri. The police there have said Nicholson told an officer that he had killed three people the night before.
