Man died after shooting during protest in North Carolina

A man who was shot during a demonstration against police brutality in Charlotte in the U.s. state of North Carolina, died in the hospital. The 26-year-old Justin Carr was allegedly in his head shot, reported the Charlotte Observer.

It is according to the local newspaper still unclear who is responsible for the shooting. The police don’t want to say or already have a suspect in sight. The municipality Charlotte left earlier, knowing that the fatal shot, in any case, is not discharged by the police.

A resident of Charlotte explained to Reuters that Carr stood before him when he was hit. “I first thought it was not fatal was because the police was shooting with rubber bullets,” said the witness.

Bystanders should the victim a few minutes on the floor have to leave before they omdraaiden. There was blood coming from his head.

During the riots which Wednesday evening (local time) took place in the U.s. state of North Carolina were 44 people arrested. Nine civilians were injured.

State of emergency

In Charlotte, it was Thursday the state of emergency was declared. The situation got out of hand when protesters during a protest march, groups of agents surrounded. The police used tear gas and rubber bullets at demonstrators to disperse. The activists threw in their turn, with fireworks and debris to the agents.

Not all aggression is directed against the police. So plundered the protesters a shop and went to trash cans in flames. Some protesters reacted angrily to the chaotic states.

People took to the streets after a 43-year-old black American was killed by a black agent. The incident took place in a parking lot on the university campus.

A victim with a gun in his hand from the car are stepped on when he was shot. The police states that the gun that the man had at the place of the shooting incident is found.

According to the daughter of the victim was her father, however, not armed.

The police currently has the record of the shooting, not release. Only if there is “an urgent reason to do so”, responded to the request of the family.

According to news agency AP would be on the film not to see that the man is a weapon he founded before he was shot.
