Man charged with threatening mass shooting at Disney World

COCOA, Florida. – Authorities say they have arrested a Florida man who threatened on Facebook to commit a mass shooting in Walt Disney World.

Florida Today reports that the 23-year-old Derek Eitel was Tuesday arrested and charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily injury.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says Eitel was in a chat group Tuesday with more than 800 members, when he wrote, “5 likes and I’m going to shoot Disney.” Eitel lives in the neighborhood of Cocoa, about an hour east of the park.

An arrest report says that two of the members notice of the declaration to the authorities. The report says Eitel later to be known to type of the threat on his smartphone.

Eitel was held on $ 100,000 bail. The jail records did not list an attorney.
