WATERLOO, Iowa – Police arrested a suspect after at least two clerks were victims of sexual violence in a string of supermarket robberies in northwest Iowa.
The Courier reports that the 25-year-old Jamar Ronod Way, was arrested Tuesday, he entered a convenience store in Waterloo wearing all black with his face covered. Victims of the four other robberies in Waterloo described the defendant as wearing the same clothing.
The police say that it is Wise to be suspicious in February. 10 robbery in which the clerk was sexually abused and repeatedly punched in the face. Wise is also suspected of sexually assaulting another employee in February. 27 robbery, and the run of robberies on Jan. 29 and Jan. 31.
Court records indicate has yet to be assigned to a lawyer. He is jailed on $1.8 million bond on the charges, including sexual abuse.
