A make-up artist in Texas with the help of a recent interaction with a prospective client, for display of homophobia, and they still have to deal with it in 2019 at the latest.

Kristian Cardenas, who is working with the Make-up & Hair by Kristian took to Twitter last week to share the screenshots of an alleged text conversation with a bride who was looking for a make-up artist for her upcoming wedding.

After that, the women will learn Cardenas is gay, but she refuses to consider her for the job — unless they decide to change your mind about being gay.”

The bride, who was not identified, had reportedly been referred to Cardenas to me by a friend, according to the screenshots, Cardenas is to be placed.

However, Cardenas is their prices and a link to her business’ Facebook page, the woman told Cardenas she would not feel comfortable using the services of a gay make-up artist.

“I’ve got a couple of questions that I was curious to see if you can answer,” says the woman, Cardenas, according to the picture below. She is soon followed by, “are you gay?”

“Yes, ma’am, I am,” Cardenas responds. “But what does that have to do with your wedding, or any of the services I provide?”

“Oh, I don’t want a gay guy to do my wedding,” the woman admitted. “I saw you on FB, and I couldn’t say whether or not you may or may not be gay.”

Cardenas said the woman’s decision is “totally fine” and seems to be happy to end the conversation, but the bride-to-be, followed by even more questions.

“How can you be with a Latina woman and a gay man have to be? You have to know that being gay is a sin,” she asks, according to the screenshot below. “I’m going to pray for you, my friend. I’m sorry to say that you have chosen a path that is going to send you straight to hell. I think you’re beautiful and the make-up and I just can’t stand it that someone is gay, it is apart [sic] of my special day. The wedding is in a church, and I don’t want you to be in my church. If you have any chance to change your mind about being gay, let me know so that I may be able to help you.”

Cardenas, the alleged sharing it with her followers on Twitter on June 12, saying they were surprised by the interaction, and encouraged the people who felt that the post ‘ be kind to everyone you meet.”

“To openly share who I am with, the world is a choice; a choice that is made, I will never apologize for it,” Cardenas wrote. “I love what I do and who I am.”

Cardenas also stressed that “homophobia is a real problem and still is in 2019 at the latest.”

Cardenas does not immediately respond to a request for comment, but she told her followers on Twitter that she was thankful for the kind words.
