Madurodam is expanding with covered pavilions
Amusement park Madurodam is going to expand. The park that the Netherlands, in the small show want to with covered pavilions, for example, to be less dependent on the weather.
There is extra space, at the expense of forest area.
In the final plans that in 1952 opened Madurodam at the Hague, The netherlands has presented them, is a lot less nature sacrificed than the park first envisioned: 0,7 hectares.
In a first expansion thought the management of 4,5 hectares of land, but there was a lot of criticism.
“Like no other we realize that people are very drawn to forest and green,” says managing director Joris van Dijk Friday. He acknowledges that the plan is “still asks something of the city and the political”, but as “a future-proof Madurodam” in front of it.
In the plan come in the theme park itself, more trees and other greenery. The new pavilions would have between 2020 and 2030 should be built.
