Luiten, despite hole-in-one unhappy with the first round Ireland
Joost Luiten after the first round of the Irish Open in the middle. The South-Hollander walked Thursday despite a hole-in-one a round of one under par.
The 31-year-old Luiten ran on the job in Portstewart a round of 71 strokes and is after the opening round on the shared 85th place.
Gap on the leading duo Benjamin Hebert from France and the American Daniel Im is already seven strokes.
Luiten could not be satisfied. “My game was not good enough today, I made too many mistakes”, says the South-Hollander on his own website.
“There was little wind, especially in the morning. The job is after a bit of rain is also quite soft so it was prijsschieten and everyone went thick under par,” he says disappointed.
His hole-in-one on the sixth hole feels nevertheless good. “But I do, unfortunately, there is nothing of the sort won. The ball landed about a foot for the hole and went in. The hole-in-one and a birdie erna kept the damage for today is limited.”
