Who is Rod Rosenstein is?

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommended the displacement of FBI Director James Comey. But, who is he?

As the investigation into the Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential elections and a contribution from the Trump-campaign – pre-forging, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been on the receiving end of some of the Republicans’ ire.

Two months after a handful of house Republicans submitted indictment of Rosenstein, the official once again rocked the Trump administration.

A bomb report published in The New York Times from Sept. 21 Rosenstein claims suggested, secretly recording President Trump expose chaos in the White house and to bring members of the Cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office — charges Rosenstein vehemently denied.

The “New York Times” the story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he told Fox News. “I’m not going to comment further on a story which is obviously biased against the Department and are on the rise, your own personal agenda. based on anonymous sources, But let me be very clear: Based on my personal dealings with the President, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”


Special Counsel Robert Muller is the spearhead of the Russian probe, but Rosenstein, 53, is overseeing the federal investigation, as Deputy attorney general.

In the indictment filed in July, the group of 11 house Republicans accused Rosenstein, the intentional withholding of documents and information from Congress, the non-compliance with congressional subpoenas, and the abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

“We have hidden, caught, the Ministry of justice information, the redaction of the information redacted should not have,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said earlier on Fox News. Jordan, who was one of the legislators, introduced in the article also claimed, Rosenstein house staff trying to intimidate with a subpoena.

What Rosenstein job?

Rosenstein, the Senate confirmed as Deputy attorney General in April 2017.

As Deputy attorney General, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the justice Department and supervises the agencies, including the FBI.

How is he involved in the Russia-investigation?

Rosenstein Müller as a special counsel in the investigation, supervised appointed in the Russian sphere of influence in the 2016 election in may 2017.

The appointment came after state attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the probe, and Rosenstein entered, which is used for the investigation.

At the time, said Rosenstein, his decision on the appointment of a special counsel “does not establish that a crime has been committed or that a prosecution is warranted.”

Under justice Department rules, Miller must Rosenstein with his investigators new information that may be outside of its original mandate to discover. Rosenstein then determines whether to go to Miller or to assign the role to another U.S. attorney or a part of justice.

According to a memo from Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, Rosenstein a minimum of a FISA surveillance application, the targeted Carter Page signed, a former foreign policy adviser to trump campaign.

He has to do something in order for Comey to burn?

Democrats criticize Rosenstein, after the White house a memo he’d crafted as a reason to fire FBI Director James Comey in may 2017, reported Politico. Rosenstein allegedly the memo to Trump written has expressed his desire to fire Comey.

Rosenstein later told the lawmakers on Capitol Hill that he stood by his memo. He said it was “not a finding of official misconduct”, or to justify a “statement of the reasons for the cause of the termination.”

“Regardless of my personal affection for Director Comey, I thought it was appropriate, the search for a new leader,” Rosenstein said.

What has the White house said about him?
