Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., was in rare agreement with President Trump on Wednesday, after he announced his decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria.
Lee, the recently your bid for House Speaker, lost to fellow Rep. Nancy Pelosi, also a California Democrat, told Fox News that it “has long called for a troop withdrawal in Syria,” because Congress is “not authorized”, such a war in the Middle East country.

“I have always believed that we can bring our troops home, and especially in areas in which we are not entitled to a war,” she said. “We need to make sure that if we sent our troops in harm’s way, you know, and we know that the costs and consequences, and in this instance, we are.”
Trump on Wednesday announced the decision to move, all of the 2,000 U.S. troops out of Syria, he suddenly, on Twitter, declared victory over the Islamic state — a contradiction of his own expert estimates. The announcement sparked surprise and outrage from some Republican lawmakers, called his action is rash and dangerous.
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S. C., slammed the decision. Corker said that he had seen in his 12 years in Congress, he is “never a decision like this.”
He said there was no communication in movement “and all of a sudden this kind of massive decision.”

Graham, the more closely with the trump administration as a Corker, described the decision as “Obama-like” and said he believes that the withdrawal of the troops “going to boost ISIS’ ability to come back.”
“For me, it is a poorly thought-out idea. The disadvantage is really great, and the head is rather added klein,” Graham.
Speaking of Fox News, Lee added that she thinks that a military solution is possible in Syria, and to engage that the only viable option, “bring all the stakeholders in the region and seek a political and diplomatic solution.”
