‘Let my wife,’ Rep. hunter says on corruption charges: report

U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, a California Republican, along with his wife has been accused of recently, which said on corruption charges, on Tuesday, that he alone should be the focus of the media questioned.

“Leave my wife, leave my family out of it,” hunter told San Diego’s KGTV-TV. “It is me they are after anyway. You are not my wife; you want me to down, what you up to. So let us in the arena and have done this.”

Hunter spoke at the station in front of a “voluntary women in politics” event in San Diego, which is part of the 50-constituency, which he represents.

Hunter’s seemed to be comments, a reversal of his earlier comments on Fox News about his wife and his campaign manager, Margaret’s dealing with his finances.

“So, what you have done, you will be looked at, I’m sure,” Hunter said. “But I didn’t. I didn’t want to spend any money, illegally, I have with the campaign money.”

Hunter in an interview, said he gave his wife a power of attorney, if he used as a Marine in Iraq in 2003, and has handled his finances during his five terms in office.

Both Duncan and Margaret Hunter were indicted last week on charges of abuse of at least $250,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses, reports the hill. The couple pleaded not guilty.

Duncan told Fox News that he’s back to 60,000 dollars paid to his campaign and that the allegations “pure politics” in the run-up to the November elections.

“My campaign will have to make the mistakes,” hunter told the network. “It has spent money on things, not from me, but from the campaign, and I paid it before my last choice.”

In the indictment listed the alleged use of campaign money for the tuition fees for his children, the games, a private school, video, the dental work, a lavish dinner and movie tickets, in addition to trips to Italy and Hawaii, according to the hill. The couple is also accused of the falsification of reports, expenses, KGTV reported.

Duncan and Margaret Hunter entered in Federal court in San Diego to give separately last week with their own lawyers, their requests, and left separately.

Margaret Hunter’s lawyer, Thomas McNamara, didn’t immediately respond to phone and E-Mail messages Friday seeking comment.

In a statement, speaker of the house of representatives, Paul Ryan, the charges and called it “deeply serious” and said Hunter would be removed from his Committee assignments, pending resolution of the case.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, said Ryan you should call to cancel on hunter.
