Less twins are born in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, last year, again slightly less twins are born. In 2015 there were a total of 2639 in the world. The year before, there were 2668, according to figures from the Central Bureau for Statistics.
In 2002, the number of are twin births with 3707 a peak. Then is this figure, with some fluctuations, annually, has decreased. This is because in artificial fertilization (ivf) is now often only one fertilized egg is put back. In the past there were two or more for the chance to succeed increase.
