Lehigh University sorority banned more than a treasure hunt

BETHLEHEM, Pa. Pennsylvania university has kicked of an association outside the campus due to what officials are calling an “objectionable” scavenger hunt that involved drugs, alcohol and sexual activity.

Alpha Chi Omega Theta Chi chapter lost its recognition by the Lehigh University for two years and will be excluded from the campus until May 2020.

The Lehigh Greek Community blog published by the university says the association hosted in December a scavenger hunt in which the participants were given a list of tasks that relate to the use of drugs and alcohol, sexual activity and other activities that are inconsistent with the Bethlehem school policy.

The association has been suspended pending an investigation by a disciplinary committee that the name of the activity “objectionable.”

Alpha Chi Omega can appeal. The national organization has done a trial resulting in a probationary period and individual penalties.
