The Democrat Georgia state legislator, claimed in a recent tears back viral video that a white man said to her, “go where you came from” in a grocery checkout lane — loading then went back to her story, before doubling back on — it sounded a note of sympathy for high-school mass shooter Nikolas Cruz in the last year on social media.
“My heart goes out to Nikolas Cruz!! Some don’t know how you are an orphan child you can handle. I thank God every day for getting me through the system in one piece. #Florida shoot #mentalhealth #PrayforDouglas #prayfornik,” State Rep. Erica Thomas wrote on Feb. 16, 2018.
Several journalists and commentators have characterized and condemned the post late on Monday night, including Mike Cernovich, Harry cherry, called for Thomas’ resignation, and Ryan Petty.
Cruz, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, had expelled shot for disciplinary reasons, and killed 17 people there on Feb. 14, 2018. More than a dozen more were injured.
On Monday, Thomas your viral back reiterated claim that a white man said to her, “go where you are the claim came in” during a irritated argument in a supermarket checkout lane, after a walk back over the weekend. The man has refused, in the encounter the way you described unfolds.
The episode, on the heels of a national controversy over President Trump ‘ s comments, directed at four progressive Democrats, quickly made the rounds in social media.
Several news organizations on Sunday portrayed the episode as a plausible instance of racism with the legislature the original claim, even though they had already tried to clarify the allegations.

Thomas himself admitted in an interview with the local media on Saturday that they will remember exactly what the man, Eric Sparkes, had said to her.

“He said, ‘you go back,” you know such words,” said Thomas on Saturday. “I don’t want to say he said, ‘go back to your country,’ or ‘go where you came from, but he made these types of references, is what I remember.”
“So, you don’t know exactly what he said?”, a reporter pressed.
Thomas replied, “no, no, definitely. But I know it was”,” because I know, I said to him, ‘go.'”
You that the record refuted the tears video Thomas posted on Facebook last Friday, in which she said she was with her little daughter in the market and had more than 10 items in the supermarket express lane.
“I have decided to go to live, because I’m very excited, because the people are really out of control with this, with this white privilege stuff,” she said. “I’m at the grocery store, and I’m in … of course, that says:” 10 items or Less.’ Yes, I have 15 points, but I’m nine months pregnant, and I can’t stand up for long, and the white man comes to me and says, ‘You lazy son of a b—h… you need to go back where you came from.'”
Thomas went on to accuse the trombone, to hatred. During the television interview on Saturday she said Sparkes “do not need to be held accountable, because people just go out and insult, because pregnant women.”
However, in a press conference with their lawyer on Monday, Thomas doubled to their original statement.
“He said, ‘Go back where you came from!'” Thomas insisted, the man said, “harassed me.”
“I was embarrassed, and I was afraid for my life,” she says.
Sparkes has to forcibly make the racially-tinged comment, and in a dramatic moment, was in the middle of a TV denied the news-interview with Thomas outside of the Atlanta-area Publix store, where the first confrontation had unfolded.

“Did I say that? It is on video?” Sparkes, Thomas asked in front of journalists. He admitted, calls Thomas a “lazy b—h,” because you had too many items to the express checkout lane, but he denied the incident had nothing to do with the breed.
Sparkes later, WSB-TV said that in spite of Thomas’ claim that he is white, he is of Cuban descent and, like Thomas, is a Democrat. Sparkes said Thomas’ allegations are politically motivated.
