Supermarkets in the whole country, almost no canned whipped cream after a fatal explosion at a Florida nitrous oxide installation at the end of August.
Lanie Friedman, a spokeswoman for Conagra Foods, confirmed to FoxNews.com that there is currently a nationwide shortage of some of the whipped topping products, including Reddi-wip.
“We are proactively managing the production of Reddi-wip, and are the best to do what we can to make this available to as many people as possible,” Friedman said.

But post season party of the season, a lot of consumers are afraid that their pies, cakes,pastries and even coffee just isn’t the same without a dollop of something special on top.

Market Basket, a New England supermarket chain, is not immune to the scarcity of the product is used for the top of cakes and desserts.
The store recently posted a sign informing customers of a minimum supply of nitro powered whipped cream. The scarcity, the chain said, it could be determined whether and when nitrous oxide producers to obtain supplies from abroad.

Friedman reiterated that the deficit is not specific to the Reddi-Wip brand and affects a number of ready-made whipped toppings. She encouraged concerned customers to stock up when supplies are available.
“This affects every company that makes use of nitrous oxide in food, including private label and competing whipped topping, too,” she said. With the chemical shortage, the spokesman stressed that “medical use of nitrous oxide in priority at this point.”
Conagra expects its full range up and running by February 2017.
