LaTavia Roberson was depressed after dismissal from Destiny’s Child
LaTavia Roberson went down in 2000 by a deep valley after her forced departure from Destiny’s Child. The now 35-year-old singer was depressed, she does reveal in her memoir I Am LaTavia.
“It was just a nasty divorce,” said Roberson against People on the break with Destiny’s Child. “You are suddenly no longer together with your friends, the people that you are so much loved.” Roberson was part of the original line-up of Destiny’s Child, alongside Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and LeToya Luckett.
Roberson and Luckett were at the beginning of 2000 to be replaced due to a conflict with the manager of the girl group, Knowles father Mathew Knowles. “I have the group never want to leave. Why would you get out of Destiny’s Child steps? Then, you’re crazy!”
Roberson and Luckett were on ‘a very nasty way ” from the group. “We saw the video clip for Say My Name on tv and discovered that we are no longer a part of Destiny’s Child.” In the video for Say My Name were Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin for the first time to see in addition to Knowles and Rowland. After a half-year was also Franklin from the group and Destiny’s Child continued as a trio.
Almost seventeen years later, Roberson still hard with her forced departure from the successful meidenroep. “I had problems with the management, not with the girls.” With them, the singer, say that still a good band. “It is not that we meet daily to speak, but I have the day before yesterday still talking with LeToya. I have with Kelly spoken and Beyoncé is seen; it is years ago, but we have no mot.”
