Last woman to beat at the car, towed it 75 yards as a purse-snatching spree, and it exceeds the 20 incidents, police say

A 52-year-old Minnesota woman was slammed against a car and dragged, and about 75 feet in a shopping center parking lot this week, becoming the latest victim in a string of purse snatchings has led to a search for suspects in the Pc. Paul, and the surrounding area, according to a new report.

“We really need to find these people before someone is more seriously injured, and we need the public to help” Pack Paul Police spokesman Steve Linders said the Pc. Paul Pioneer Press.

The incident was captured on security video in the Pc. Paul police department posted on Facebook.

The style and method of the attack was similar to the more than 20 incidents have been reported in California. Paul-since a Dec. 20, Linders said.

The woman was putting something into her trunk after shopping at Hmong Village and one of the robbers jumped out of a stolen car, drove her up against the car and grabbed her bag, and returned to the car, the video showed.

As the suspect drove away, the woman fell to the ground, and her right arm was caught in the pocket of the belt, Linders said.

The driver continued on, dragging the woman standing next to the passenger side of the car, the newspaper reported. The unidentified woman suffered bumps and bruises but was not seriously injured.

There have also been recent warnings in the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs all over the purse, the theft and the Pc. Paul police are investigating whether those cases are connected with incidents in the city.

In the Pcs. Paul robbery — including Wednesday night — the suspects sneak up on women from behind, this approach to the stolen vehicle and jumping, the Pioneer Press reported.

They were “surprised by the unsuspecting victims and rip the bag or bags in their hands or on the shoulders,” Linders said.

Most of the women were 40 years of age or older, and are the principle focus is often expensive models, Linders said.

If the victims resisted, the suspects have been taken or have threatened them, sometimes with weapons, according to Linders. After stealing the wallet, and the robbers have to escape on foot or in a stolen vehicle, the Pioneer Press reported.

In most of the cases, two or more of the suspects are between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age have been seen. They have tried to hide their identities with hooded sweatshirts, or baseball caps, Linders said.
