LA sheriff’s deputy, ‘completely fabricated’ the sniper’s story, has been fired, authorities said

A 21-year-old rookie deputy is expected to make a full recovery after being hit by a sniper in Lancaster, California, William La Jeunesse reporting.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy who reported being shot by a sniper on Wednesday, launching a manhunt for the shooter is “totally fabricated” the story, the sheriff’s department announced at a press conference on Saturday night.

Sheriff’s Deputy Angel Reinosa, a 21-year-old rookie with the department, and had holes in his t-shirt to make it look as if he had been admitted and was being treated for “bruising” to his back in a hospital on the occasion of the so-called ” made-up incident, Homicide Bureau, Capt. Kent Wegener said.

The assistant of the Sheriff in Robin Limon told reporters that the department is “incredibly disappointed” by the case, and that Reinosa was relieved of his duties. The department is starting a criminal investigation is in Reinosa for the false report, Limon added.

Wegener said that the study did not find any ballistic evidence at the scene, and no witnesses said they had heard the shots.

He added that in Reinosa has not said why he did it.

The deputy claimed he was shot while walking to his car from the sheriff’s station in Lancaster, north of L. A. County. Reinosa reported that he had been shot in the chest, but it said that the bullet-proof vest deflected the bullet into his shoulder, leaving a bruise.
