Kurt Volker, the US envoy to the Ukraine, resigned Friday after his name was mentioned in the intelligence community whistleblower complaint in relation to President Trump’s July 25 phone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, including a discussion on the investigation of the Biden family, a source with knowledge of the matter told Fox News.
Volker ‘ s resignation was first reported by The press, the student newspaper of Arizona State University, where Volker serves as the executive director of the school’s McCain Institute.
According to the complaint, Volker sought to “contain the damage” from Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the contact with the Ukraine government on the Biden family.
But a July-19 text message from Volker to Giuliani, which was provided to Fox News, showed on Thursday that Volker had in fact encouraged to reach out to Giuliani, the Ukraine.

“As discussed, connects with Andrei Yermak, which is very close to President Zelensky,” the message from Volker to Giuliani read in part. “I suggest we schedule a call on Monday [July 22] …”
The White house on Wednesday released a transcript of Trump: the July phone call with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who showed that the President seeks a review of the Biden family of shops in the country.
“There is talk of Biden’s is much son that Biden finished want to the law enforcement and a lot of people to find out about so, what can you do with the attorney-General would be great,” Trump said in the phone call. “Biden went on to boast that he ended the persecution of so if you are looking into it…It sounds terrible for me.”

Joe Biden said that while Vice President, he called on Ukraine, the fire of his top Prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who is the investigation of the natural gas company Burisma Holdings — where Hunter Biden was on the Board. Biden has claimed that the corruption is asked concerns his intervention.
The whistleblower report ignited new calls from Democrats, President Trump charges, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., this week said she supports a law enforcement request.
On Friday, the Chairman of the three house committees, Secretary of state Mike Pompeo informed that Volker is planned, a statement on Oct. 3. It was not immediately clear whether Volker’s departure from his State Department post affected these plans.
