Kruijswijk frustrated by new delay on ‘nervous day’ in Vuelta
Steven Kruijswijk was Sunday, also in the second stage of the Vuelta a España waste of time to allow a large part of its competitors. The Dutchman wants the opening weekend of the Tour of Spain as soon as possible.
“We should be there in,” said Kruiswijk at the site of his team Lotto-Jumbo. “We wanted to today do not be surprised, but we have not succeeded to the end in front to stay.”

Kruijswijk seemed Sunday despite the hard wind and the high pace no time to lose, until Quick-Step Floors the peloton in the last three kilometers still separate continents.
“I was hoping that the worst was over, because we already had a nervous day behind,” says Kruiswijk about the final.
“The team has done a good job, but ultimately it was still wrong. In the last one and a half km we came behind to sit. The differences remained fortunately limited, but this day has a lot of energy cost.”
