Kromowidjojo, the sixth to the semi-finals 100 meter free
Ranomi Kromowidjojo has wed night as sixth placed for the semi-finals of the 100 metres freestyle at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Budapest. Maud van der meer wait to be a swim-off.
The 26-year-old Kromowidjojo klokte in the eighth and last series 53,45, and seemed not to fully go. The personal record of Kromowidjojo in the 50 metres free dates from 2012 and is on 52,75.
The fastest time in the series was for Sarah Sjöström, who is in the same heat as Kromowidjojo to 53,01 swam. The Swedish, the absolute favorite is on the 100 metres, sharpness, Sunday the world record to 51,71.
Van der meer remained in the sixth series in 54,49 just above her personal best (54,44). It was the sixteenth time all of the series, and exactly the same time as Andrea Murez from Israel. A swim-off must now decide whether the 25-year-old Van der meer or Murez is the last place to fill in the semi-finals, Thursday night at the program.
