Kromowidjojo surprised himself with a world CHAMPIONSHIP silver medal in 50 metres butterfly

Ranomi Kromowidjojo put Saturday night to her own surprise, seized a silver medal in the 50 metres butterfly at the world swimming CHAMPIONSHIPS in hungary’s Budapest.
The 26-year-old Groningen had a personal best time (25.38 mm) only the all-powerful Swedish Sarah Sjöström for itself tolerate the non-olympic distance.
“This is supernice. A thick personal record and second of the world in a strong field”, enjoyed Kromowidjojo after her silver race for the camera of the NOS.
She admitted that her medal had not seen coming. “This I had at the beginning of the season not expected. Behind Sarah end is not a wrong outcome.”
Despite her surprising second place cherishes Kromowidjojo has no ambitions, for example, the 100-meter butterfly. “On a global level. I have this year, a bit more on the butterfly stroke trained. For now, it was in any case a beautiful race.”

Ranomi Kromowidjojo swam handsome for silver in the 50 metres butterfly.

Later in the evening, placed Kromowidjojo as fourth for the final of the 50 free.

Kromowidjojo won Saturday after her individual medal is also silver on the 4×100 meters free at the mixed relay race. Her second silver medal of the day in the relay race gave her satisfaction.
“Before we didn’t know or here medaillekandidaten would be, but in the final, anything can happen,” said Kromowidjojo. “Number one, two, and three of us went well. I thought: now I have to finish it. Nice, another silver.”
Ben Schwietert had to do it at the relay as the first record against the rapid American Dressel and also he kept a good feeling about. “Very impressive what he shows. It is very difficult to him to race. I had it with the coach discussed that I’m not crazy had to make. I enjoyed the race,” he said.

50 meters free
