Coach Ronald Koeman was Sunday despite the late 2-3 defeat of the Dutch team in their own home against Germany in the european CHAMPIONSHIPS-qualification very pleased with the clever comeback of his team in the second half.
“I am proud of how the second half played. We were 2-0 down,” said Koeman in the NIS. “Then you can throw in the towel sit down, but we played great. Had a point been caught, I would say.”
The netherlands was halfway on a 0-2 deficit by goals from Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry and looked after the rest, thanks to hits by Matthijs de ligt and Memphis Depay a positive result from dragging, but Nico Schulz decided in extremis else.
“It could be going in all directions. Last year in the Nations League, we won in Germany, but then had just as good right to be”, reminded Koeman still.
“It ended in a tie, we had to lose. Now we were able to win, but we lose. So close is the with each other. I think that’s worth a compliment for the Netherlands.”

Koeman considered Aké to bring
Koeman considered in the final moment to attacker Quincy Promes, that the entire left side covered, to exchange for defender Nathan Aké.
“Maybe I had that but have to do, and in any case a point to pick up. But well, we also had opportunities at 3-2,” he explained. “It is prices that we have continued. But in the last few minutes, I had the feeling that he is also on the other hand could fall.”
The netherlands stands by the defeat against Germany on the third place in group C with three points from two matches. Orange should the North of Ireland (six points) and Germany (three points) above them.
The netherlands resumed only in september the european CHAMPIONSHIPS qualifier, with the return against Germany and plays first in June the final of the Nations League, in which England, the opponent is in the semi-finals.
