Koeman criticises, setting Everton’s first Premier League defeat
Everton manager Ronald Koeman was Saturday after the loss to Bournemouth (1-0) total not happy with how his players the match started.
“We will never win a contest if we play as in the first 45 minutes against Bournemouth,” said the Dutch manager after the first defeat of his club in the Premier League.
“We lost every second ball, every battle. In the second half we started to play football, but that was too late. We must also begin to competitions.”
Bournemouth defeated Everton by a goal midway through the first half of Junior Stanislas. “Football always starts with a good setting, but that was not good enough today,” said Koeman.
“I already knew that this season we not every contest would win, but this was a collective failure. That setting should be a lot better.”
Everton saw the first defeat in the league behind leader Manchester City up to five points.
