The Grammy award winner will run in the 2020 NBA All-Star Saturday Night event, to sing Stevie Wonder’s “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” but with a twist.

Latifah, 49, added a rap verse from the legendary musician’s song, in which she was still a line to pay homage to Bryant’s.

“Give love a shot, If you do, you should say, ‘leave to rest’ / 24-eight days a week, and the trophies are,” she chimed.

The crowd could be heard cheering after the line.

The show is a few weeks later, Bryant died in a helicopter crash in California at the end of January. He was 41. Bryant’s daughter, Gianna, was also among the victims of the crash.

On the very day that he passed, Latifah took to Instagram to share her grief.

The “Chicago” star also shared a picture of a cross with the words, “God Bless you Kobe” written all over it.

“Omg, an icon and a daughter,” she wrote in the caption. “Well, lord, that the Way to have A Peace of mind For the Fans and for The whole Family.”

The NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday evening, a special tribute to Bryant, Jennifer Hudson before the game starts. Chaka Khan, the Probability that the Rapper, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, and Quavo have been to.
