In the second experiment of That Kipchoge to run the marathon under two hours, it will be in October and will take place in the Wiener Prater, a large park in the center of the Austrian capital city of Vienna, austria.
The Hauptallee, has been chosen as the perfect venue for the record attempt. The marathon will consist of multiple laps of a 9.6 km, with Kipchoge back-and-forth runs along the flat, tree-lined streets that meander through the park.
The so-called INEOS is 1:59 pm Challenge and is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 12, but a run of eight days up to and including the 20th of October, so that it can be taken into account in the weather conditions.
The 34-year-old Kipchoge made two years ago, on the back of the Italian Milan is already trying to get to the magical barrier of two hours, and to overcome them. The Kenyan, who came up with a time of 2 hours and 25 minutes.
That time it was not recognized as a world record because of the race, including many of the masters did not comply with the rules of the international athletics federation (IAAF). Kipchoge with a time of 2.01,39, of last year out in Berlin and is also the official world record holder.
The reigning olympic champion, who is training in Kenya Kaptagat prepares for his attempt, is very pleased with the course. “My understanding is that it’s a fast and flat course that is well protected by the trees. And, because the trail is in the center of Vienna, there are a lot of spectators to be part of this historic event.”
