Kim Kötter calls for other ‘norms and values about weight’
Kim Kötter is the time “the norms and values about weight a wake-up call”. The former Miss Universe got after her pregnancy a lot of criticism on her weight.
“When I had just given birth, I got often the question of whether I was pregnant,” said Kötter, who in may last year gave birth to son, Muck, in RTL Boulevard.
“Last weekend, I had a presentation a short jumpsuitje. For the first time after my pregnancy, I thought: it can be. During the evening people came up to me with comments like: you have to no what more to eat? Or are you not in the tip losing weight?”
Kötter gave to this kind of comments normally prefer to ignore, but this time to have decided in her heart to skies via Instagram. “I feel that I now must do. I also have a responsible position in the Miss Netherlands organization and the girls that I mentor. It is important the norms and values of waking up.”
According to the former Miss Universe and one should realize that women are easy to hurt others with comments about their weight, especially after a pregnancy. “Then you have the already not always easy. And you need to get used to your new me.”
Commenting on someone’s weight is according to Kötter “so English”. “In America, they look more to what they are really beautiful to find you. You don’t always a compliment to hang on, but say nothing.”
