The mother-in-law of a murdered Florida woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the brutal murder, authorities announced on Friday-five days after the defendant’s son and a man were arrested in the same case.

Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson, told reporters that the Resumption of Nereida Rivera, 59, was booked on Friday and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. She is accused of tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Nicole Montalvo, and the provision of false or misleading statements made to the detectives during the past week.

Gibson described the Service as “emotional” after her arrest, adding that she did not want to cooperate with the investigation and has already consulted with a lawyer.

Montalvo’s estranged husband and the father of her son, Christopher Otero-Rivera, 31, and his father, Angel Luis Rivera, 63, the son and the husband of Wanda Rivera, respectively, were initially arrested last Friday on unrelated charges. After Montalvo’s death was confirmed on Sunday, the men were charged with premeditated murder and ordered held without bond in the Osceola County Jail.

The homicide investigation is ongoing, and Gibson said he expects more arrests in the coming days.

“We know of other people who are involved in this,” he stressed. “It will lead to more arrests. This [murder] was definitely planned, and when it took effect, the people have been contacted, or who is involved in the role [with regard to] the remains to be.”

“We will have to drain every pond, no matter how small, that person played a role in this,” the sheriff added. “They will be brought to justice.”

The 33-year-old Montalvo, a happy worker is at the Broadway Pizza Bar in Kissimmee, was reported missing Oct. 23. She had dropped off her, and Otero-Rivera’s 8-year-old son, Elijah, at his father’s home in California. Cloud two days ago, but it does not go back to collect him. The researchers found the human remains on the grounds of Montalvo, in the act of Oct. 25.; authorities have confirmed the remains Montalvo, two days later.

Gibson said Montalvo’s body was one of the worst he has seen for more than 32 years as a homicide investigator with the sheriff, adding that the remains were “taken apart.” The cause of death is still to be determined, but the autopsy results are expected next week.

“I’m just so angry at what these people have done to this dear lady, at some point in her life when she felt as if she had finally loosened up and was so excited to get her first month’s rent,” Gibson said. “A lot of times, victims of domestic violence and don’t know how to break it, but she was on her own to do it. Now that she’s dead.”

“When the autopsy is done, people will be shocked,” Gibson added.

However, this was not the first one who said wanted to meet Montalvo had been in the hands of a Otero-Rivera, with whom she’s filed for divorce. According to the court filings, Montalvo sought the aid of the enforcement of the law on a number of occasions, and the number of incidents of violence had escalated over a number of years.

She is said to have filed for a temporary restraining order in June 2016, with the claim that Otero-Rivera was attacked, their son, who was 5-years-old at the time.

Photos of Montalvo, sporting bruises and a neck brace were recorded in court, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The paper also reported that Montalvo was reported to be in the cases that Otero-Rivera had previously been involuntarily committed to a hospital under the state’s Baker’s Act is that it allows for a 72-hour hold for those who are deemed to be a danger to themselves or others.

But the worst of the alleged incident, came out in October of 2018. Montalvo also told law enforcement that Otero-Rivera a text message from her that his truck had broken down and he needed a ride. However, as he led her to a sterile area, where a car driven by a woman, identified as Toni Rocker is raised.

Montalvo, was then dragged from her vehicle and thrown to the ground. After her husband’s seemingly filled with a piece of cloth in her mouth, and tried to break into her neck, the Rocker allegedly held a knife to Montalvo’s throat and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the attack.

The pair were arrested.

See-saw, 31, was acquitted in April of charges of kidnapping, robbery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to Gibson, the Rocker switch is not a defendant in Montalvo’s murder, and has been working with researchers in the field.

Otero-Rivera pleaded no contest to obstructing a witness ‘ ability to communicate with law enforcement, illegal possession of a credit or debit card and the battery. The more serious charges of kidnapping, robbery, and aggravated assault, were dropped as part of a plea agreement.

After serving just eight months behind bars, Otero-Rivera was released on two years of probation, including the wearing of an ankle bracelet for monitoring. He was left out of the communications Montalvo, in addition to parenting, the mobile phone application, but it has since been charged with violating the no-contact order with the permission to call her. Angel Luis Rivera, a convicted felon, was initially arrested Friday on a charge of illegal weapons and ammunition possession.

“This is a person who has tried to take the snap of Nicole’s neck, and he took a plea deal,” Gibson lamented. “Domestic violence should not be a criminal offence; [this] should be a criminal offence. If the weapons are used, they can be enhanced to a felony. But there is nothing of a domestic violence-related, should be moved to a federal offense.”

Gibson and some of the members of the law enforcement is joined to Montalvo, the family and dozens of mourners on Monday in California. Cloud’s Lakefront Park for a vigil to remember: Nicole Montalvo’s life and to illuminate the dark of the plight of victims of domestic violence, to walk by day in and day out.

A second vigil is expected to take place on Saturday, Montalvo’s former workplace, Broadway Pizza, family, and co-workers.

“We need to help our officers of justice, to refer the matter seriously,” Gibson told Fox News. “We will be a voice for the voice-over. We will have the right, Nicole.”
