Keith Urban reveals what makes him cry once a month: the ‘small things’

Keith Urban reveals what makes him cry once a month, says that it is the “little things.”

Keith Urban has a healthy way of dealing with his emotions.

The 50-year-old country superstar opened up about his earlier confession that he cries once in a month in a candid new interview with Andrew Denton, the reveal of what exactly makes him emotional.

In 2016, Urban memorably told Rolling Stone, “If I haven’t cried in a while, I can tell you that I have pent up. Then maybe once a month I have a good cry, a huge avalanche of a heavy shower of rain, and I feel amazing for weeks afterwards. The streets are cleaned, the sky is blue, there is no humidity and it is beautiful.”

Urban says it not much more for him to tear up.

“It had nothing to do with the question of whether life was good or bad,” he said of his addiction. “It had nothing to do with any of that stuff. I was an equal opportunity addict. I was high when it was sunny, high when it was raining — it doesn’t matter. It was something I should have shared with many, many years before I met Nic, and tried, but it just never took. I was still not ready. It’s as simple as that.”

These days, Kidman and Urban seem to be more in love than ever, and the singer has been 12 years sober. The two made an appearance in Lincoln Center’s American Songbook Gala at Alice Tully Hall in New York City in May, where she could not stop kissing.
