Katie Holmes in the film adaptation of criticized bestseller ‘The Secret’
Former Dawson Creek actress Katie Holmes will play the leading role in the film adaptation of The Secret. The self-help book, that makes use of the so-called ‘Law of Attraction’, would help people to have happiness and wealth to reach.
The 38-year-old Holmes is going to be a widow to play by her handyman “comes in contact with the philosophy that believe in the power of the universe ensures that you get what you want,” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Secret was originally a film and documentary from 2006 by Rhonda Byrne, later came out in book form. In The Secret, so-called ‘teachers’ were interviewed to explain how ‘the secret’ to work for them.
The documentary and the subsequent self-help book could be quite a bit of criticism count. It would only be aimed at success, greed, and wealth. It would also be people who are more unlucky in life to the feeling that they themselves are to blame.
This new film is not an exact filming of the book, writes Variety. “It seems that the storyline plays with the principles of The Secret, in place of a complete operation.”
